Although it’s important to look at what’s going on in your head, don’t overdo it. Cutting ourselves off from the world by spending days in our bedroom listening to The Smiths isn’t going to do anyone any good. If we spend too much time thinking about our problems, then we’re almost guaranteed to end up depressed.
In order not to cut ourselves off from the rest of the planet we should actively engage with it: through hobbies, friends or family. Although being passionate about one particular thing helps, it’s best not to get too obsessed about it. If we do, there’s the chance we then miss out on something even better.
