Ah… the 20th century wonder drug….. Or is it?
Viagra was first developed to assist in hypertension and angina pectoris, but researchers soon discovered a certain side-effect…! It “raised” issues and before long we had the worlds first anti-impotence drug marketed. Hugh Hefner, the Playboy King called it``the best legal recreational drug''. Sales rocketed and worldwide men were being “cured” of an age-old problem, impotence.
However Viagra is being used today by scores of young partygoers as an antidote to the wilting effects of alcohol and club drugs such as ecstasy and crystal methamphetamine. It’s not good news taking drugs to counter-affect the side effects of other drugs… especially for recreational and clinically unsupervised consumption… it can lead to all sorts of problems.
Viagra can be lethal in combination with other recreational drugs, in particular anything that already speeds up the heart rate like poppers, add viagra to this and you have heart attack material. Viagra can be bought over the internet, but the quality and sources can vary considerably, and at the end of the day, unless it’s come through your GP, you don’t know what you could be swallowing.
If impotence is a concern for you, see your GP or local GUM (sexual health) Clinic and speak to a “sexpert” there.
