Falling in love

You’ve lost your appetite, you can’t concentrate on anything and you find yourself singing along to all those big romantic hits on the radio. Even that rubbishy Titanic song by Celine Dion. Congratulations. You’re in love. This is fun and exciting but it’s not always without difficulties. Letting someone get close to you can be a scary experience; it can make you feel vulnerable. But this is all part of developing an intimate relationship.

The early stages of the relationship are where you find out about each other. It’s vital that we don’t just assume stuff about our partner but listen to what they have to say. For instance, you might want to start having sex as soon as possible, but your partner may want to leave it for a bit. In this situation it’s important to wait until the time’s right for both of you.
